Breakfast

We take great pride in our breakfasts; and love to showcase the quality and variety of Lincolnshire produce.

We have a VisitEngland Breakfast Award. And we have a Food Hygiene Rating of 5.

Times for Breakfast:

Breakfast is served between the following times:

Monday to Friday:  between 7.30 am and finishes at 9.00 am (from 7.30 am to 8.00 am there is a limited menu);

Saturday and Sunday: between 8.00 am and finishes at 9.30 am .

Alternative times for breakfast can be offered on request and as agreed.

 

If you want a cooked breakfast we ask that you let us know what you want the night before. Please note, when we are busy we may need to allocate a specific time for your breakfast.

 

If you have any special dietary requirements or allergies please let us know so that we can try and cater for your needs.

  • A selection of fruit juices
  • Cereals including a homemade granola (suitable for vegans); porridge from the Maud Foster windmill with homemade fruit compote and Lincolnshire runny honey; grapefruit; and yoghurts
  • Cooked breakfasts including The Full Old Posthouse; Grimsby traditional smoked salmon or smoked haddock; Redhill Farm Black Pudding with spinach and poached eggs; French Toast with either bacon and maple syrup or fruit compote and Lincolnshire runny honey; and vegetarian and vegan options.
  • Homemade Jams and marmalades;  a selection of Lincolnshire Honeys.

 

Evening Meals

We can also offer evening meals.

However, we need prior notice – generally at least 24 hours – so please contact us directly beforehand to discuss. What, if anything, is available depends on how much notice we get, the availability of produce and how many we are cooking for.

There is a pub in the village, The Bottle & Glass,which is a 2 minute walk from the front door. However, please check beforehand.

If that isn’t open or serving food there is The Crown Inn at Glentham, which is a 5 minute drive away (or a 30 minute walk mainly along a footpath) or The Dambusters Inn at Scampton or The Cross Keys at Stow which are each a 15 minute drive away.

Local Sourcing

We use the following quality locally sourced ingredients for our Breakfasts: Bacon and the beef for our homemade sausage slices from our local butcher V.T.Lancaster & Son  in Market Rasen; Lincolnshire pork sausages and ham hock black pudding from Redhill Farm (near Gainsborough); free range eggs from Scaman’s Eggs (near Louth); smoked salmon and smoked haddock from Alfred Enderby in Grimsby; bread from JH Starbuck (based in Market Rasen); porridge oats from the Maud Foster Windmill in Boston; and honey from Apidae Honey based in Winterton.

We offer a wide selection of teas from Imperial Teas (based in Lincoln); and a selection of filter coffees from Stokes (based in Lincoln); and a selection of hot chocolates including our personal favourite hot chocolate from Willie’s Cacao.
